Résumé:
An intricate tapestry of personal and collective memory, Mashid Mohadjerin’s work interweaves photography, text, video, and archival material to explore displacement, resistance, and identity. She reconstructs the past not as a distant realm but as something tangible, living within language, inherited trauma, and memory. In "Riding in silence & the crying dervish," the tension between imposed identity and self-definition is key to the artist’s exploration of masculinity and how it is shaped by war, colonialism, nationalism, and religious ideology. Through the lens of her father’s memories, Mohadjerin reveals how even the simplest actions become acts of quiet defiance.

Résumé:
In her painting, American artist Amy Sillman (born 1955) expands the standards of abstraction using material and conceptual interventions in the painting process. She destabilizes purported dichotomies and hierarchizations between figuration and abstraction, intimacy and clumsiness, ability and self-negation, process and completion. Now the serial drawings and paintings are multicolored, now monochrome, now they show complex forms, now figures or body parts. And they are always filled with delight in the process. The publication "Amy Sillman: Oh, Clock!" highlights her critical exploration of the history of painting and conveys her complex and sophisticated painterly practice on canvas and beyond.

This book presents 27 years of Deanna Dikeman photographing her parents waving goodbye as she left their home after a visit. Just as she was driving away, Dikeman invariably pointed her camera at her parents. What started with a candid snapshot in 1991 turned into a ritual over the years. The book chronicles their farewells as seasons change and years go by, separating black and white photographs from colour photographs. "Leaving and waving" — which was originally part of a larger body of work entitled "Relative moments" — is a heartfelt exploration of family, the passage of time and the sadness of leaving.

Résumé:
The three works selected for this volume on Tadao Ando are not recent in chronological terms. However, the quality of being novel is one of the least appropriate ways to approach the Japanese architect’s work, which is wholly disassociated from this. The three houses – in Osaka, Ashiya (Hyogo), and Tokyo – can be described as symbolic junctures in Ando’s exploration of residential design, with clear differences in their respective scales, plans, and contexts, but with an identical radical approach through which the building’s form reacts to these conditions and transforms them into its intrinsic qualities. Includes an extensive text and photographs by Yukio Futagawa.

Résumé:
Despite the significance of the natural sciences for humanity’s present and future, the principles of today’s scientific practices are often not exposed to the broad social discourse they deserve. Through a combination of philosophy and photography, Jana Hartmann produces a visual exploration of the history of alchemy and science. In the book, she initiates an intriguing dialogue on reductionistic and holistic worldviews, using excerpts from both alchemical writings and modern scientific publications, interwoven with selectively framed images of scientific phenomena. In examining humanity’s conquest of nature, Hartmann fosters curiosity towards a world that all too often remains opaque.
