L'importance de la démarche de la sculpteure et photographe Linda Covit nous a été confirmée, une fois de plus, avec l'exposition « Réflexions », présentée à Plein sud du 6 mars au 15 avril 2012. En parallèle à une série de photographies où se révélaient mutuellement les beautés de la nature et de l'architecture, l'artiste proposait également une imposante sculpture en bois. À la fois réceptacle et sanctuaire, demeure et nid, cette oeuvre contemplative, éclairée de l'intérieur, aux qualités plastiques saisissantes, nous renvoyait à des besoins universels liés d'une manière ou d'une autre aux notions d'enveloppement, de contemplation, d'habitat et d'urbanisme. Or, si la présentation de l'exposition «Réflexions» est à l'origine de ce projet de publication, c'est d'abord la maturité d'une démarche solidement construite sur plus de trente années de carrière artistique qui nous a persuadé de la pertinence de réaliser cette monographie portant sur l'oeuvre de Linda Covit.

The descriptive Next Generation underlines the guiding principle behind the firms chosen for this fourth installment in the series: the majority of practices are less than five years old, and more than half of them have only been in existence for two or three years. The firms included in this edition, with a few exceptions, collectively represent the youngest firms in the four iterations of Twenty + Change. Selected by a curatorial committee from more than 160 submissions, these projects by thirteen organizations engage the public realm in meaningful ways, posit new models for collective living and urban infill, advance the role of sustainability and vernacular craft, and explore opportunities for speculative and self-initiated commissions.
