All Possible Futures accompanies an exhibition that explores speculative work created by contemporary graphic designers. The scope of work encompasses everything from self-generated provocations, to experimental work created in parallel with client-based projects, to unique practices where commissions have been tackled with a high level of autonomy and critical investigation. The work highlights different levels of visibility and public-ness within the graphic design process. Some projects were made for clients and exist in a ‘real world’ context, while others might otherwise have gone unnoticed: failed proposals, experiments, sketches, incomplete thoughts.

Alternatively, ‘Rapid Prototyping’ and ‘Rapid Manufacturing Technology’ provide the chance to create one-off components and elements for architecture. Here, processes of construction that are related to current available technologies of production and assembly are explored within the context of the opportunity to design and construct with their advantages – the realisation of genuine IT-driven architecture.

Résumé:
This book presents an unprecedented visual survey of the living and working spaces of the artist Donald Judd in New York and Texas. Filled with newly commissioned and previously unpublished archival photographs alongside five essays by the artist, this book provides an opportunity to explore Judd’s personal spaces, which are a crucial part of this revered artist’s oeuvre. From a 19th-century cast-iron building in Manhattan to an extensive ranch in the mountains of western Texas, this book details the interiors, exteriors, and lands surrounding the buildings that comprise Judd’s extant living and working spaces. Readers will discover how Judd developed the concept of permanent installation at Spring Street in New York City, with artworks, furniture, and decorative objects striking a balance between the building’s historic qualities and his own architectural innovations. His buildings in Marfa, Texas, demonstrate how Judd reiterated his concept of integrative living on a larger scale, extending to the reaches of the Chinati Mountains at Ayala de Chinati, his 33,000-acre ranch south of the town. Each of the spaces was thoroughly considered by Judd with resolute attention to function and design. From furniture to utilitarian structures that Judd designed himself, these residences reflect Judd’s consistent aesthetic. His spaces underscore his deep interest in the preservation of buildings and his deliberate interventions within existing architecture.

Résumé:
Over a five-year period, a modest poster board hung in a Minneapolis neighbourhood; it became a barometer for experimental typographic practice within the global design community. This dense volume documents the entire project, which was curated by Erik Brandt, and features works ranging from well-known designers to talented students. Conceptually approached like the ‘Ficciones Typografika’ project, the book is an expressive and visceral experience, rather than an encyclopaedic documentation. It reproduces every installation of work along with an overprint of the original posters. With a text by Ben DuVall and a conversation between Brandt and Paul Schmelzer.

Résumé:
Addressing the maniacal, eccentric, and disorienting in artworks made between 1950 and 1980, "Delirious" situates a fascination with the absurd and irrational within the context of the violence and brutality witnessed during World War II as well as the rapid expansion of industrial capitalism in the 1950s. Skepticism of science and technology—along with fear of its capability to promote mass destruction—developed into a distrust of rationalism, which in the arts had the paradoxical result of extracting irrational effects from rational means. Disturbing and challenging, these works upended traditional notions of aesthetic harmony.
