Résumé:
In this publication, the current work of New York-based Steven Holl-an outstanding representative of contemporary American architecture-is the subject of a detailed examination that is orientated by a focus on archetypical aspects of visual perception. For nearly three decades now, Steven Holl has developed his architectural stance and his reflections on architecture with striking consistency. The success of his work can be attributed to its sculptural shaping, his interest in the poetics of space, colour, light, and material, and his fascination with scientific phenomena. With essays by Jordi Safont-Tria, Sanford Kwinter, and Steven Holl that discuss various dimensions of temporality vis a vis processes of creation, utilizations, and perception in architecture.

Résumé:
Published to coincide with a major exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Jack Chambers: Light, Spirit, Time, Place and Life is the first major volume to be published on the work of Jack Chambers, one of Canada’s most recognized and broadly influential artists. Featuring a selection of some 100 works including paintings, drawings, prints, and films, and materials from the artist’s extensive papers, the book focuses on Chambers’s own unique brand of “perceptive realism,” his use of light, place, time, and spirit, all of which were central to his work. A brilliant draughtsman and remarkable painter, Chambers spend his early adulthood travelling and studying in Europe, where he met Pablo Picasso. When he returned to his hometown of London, Ontario, in 1961, he found himself at the centre of a vibrant art scene that would become the backdrop for his films and the surrealist-influenced works based on his dream-like evocations of memory.

Résumé:
From the Sony Center in Berlin to the Lyon Opera, Yann Kersalé 's light-installations enhance landscapes and buildings all over the world. Two decades of creative accomplishment have made Kersalé 's studio a top address for innovative lighting design. Richly illustrated and extensively documented, this publication provides the first-ever comprehensive overview of his work, both permanent and temporary installations, in which this artist of the night de-familiarizes our way of regarding objects, paints them in a different light and lends them new character.
