Résumé:
Dusk, the transitional hour bridging day and night, symbolizes the border between conscious and unconscious, light and dark or life and death. Further, in ancient Japanese culture, dusk was considered to be the time when one might encounter dark creatures. The images of "At dusk" are to visualize inner reality of a person who has been through change in her life, moving from one culture to another. While it is a personal project, it has a possibility to be collective, triggering similar evocative effects in a viewer’s mind. The images exist somewhere between reality and fantasy, and those often somber images are inspired by the fragmented memories of my childhood, long discarded fears and vaguely recalled nightmares.

From an essay by Carlos Jimenez: "Since 1983, when work on my house and studio began, the project has undergone a variety of transformations, expansions, assimilations -simply put, it has followed a path of growth and discovery. My proximity to this path's every turn puts me much too close for objective appraisal, yet this position offers an auspicious vantage point from(...)

From an essay by Carlos Jimenez: "Since 1983, when work on my house and studio began, the project has undergone a variety of transformations, expansions, assimilations -simply put, it has followed a path of growth and discovery. My proximity to this path's every turn puts me much too close for objective appraisal, yet this position offers an auspicious vantage point from which to reflect on the implications of architecture in one's life. I now gather some observations, memories, and moments, all of which emerge through one biographical detail or another--an inevitable outcome when writing on such a personal work, a work that by its evolving nature is both my first and my most recent project."

Résumé:
A ventriloquist and his puppet are lost in what appears to be a deserted labyrinth, discussing their situation, their memories, and their feelings as they try to survive. What follows is a wandering through space and time—a journey that is sometimes silent and abstract, sometimes talkative and melancholy. A parking garage for the city of Rennes designed by the architectural office ateliers o-s architects as a means to keep cars out of the center is the starting point for Sammy Stein’s story. In this publication, which is destined to become part of a collection, ateliers o-s architectes present the building they have constructed as seen through the eyes of an artist.

Résumé:
Thombu was a term used by the Dutch to describe a public land registry. The Incomplete Thombu poses as a bureaucratic document file and covers the subject of Tamil displacement during the civil conflict in Sri Lanka between 1983 and 2009. Though numerous documents of statistical data have recorded the displacement of civilians, few have highlighted the personal plights of those involved. This project records the stories of civilians removed from their homes and the memories that they took with them. T. Shanaathanan examines the subject of displacement through a series of drawings that overlay ground plans of houses drawn from memory by displaced Tamil-speaking civilians, with architect’s renderings and dry pastel drawings.

Résumé:
In this edition, Daido Moriyama publishes his snaps from a trip to Paris the previous year, in connection with the Paris Photo fair. While wandering in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood, rue Mouffetard, and the area around Moulin Rouge taking pictures, his thoughts gradually drifted to memories of 30 years ago, when he lived in Paris for a brief period. Moriyama reflects on his obsession at the time to open a private gallery, which for a variety of reasons failed to become a reality, so he ended up spending his days roaming the city’s streets instead. Picture this: a 50-year-old Japanese man with a camera, totally bewildered, who speaks no French and only some broken English.
