Résumé:
American cities underwent seismic transformations in the 1960s and '70s, from shifting demographics and political protests to reshaping through highways and urban renewal. Amid this climate of upheaval, photographers, architects, activists, performance artists, and filmmakers turned conditions of crisis into sites for civic discourse and artistic expression. The City Lost and Found explores photographic and cinematic responses to the changing fabric of New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles that contributed to a reconsideration of cities in popular media and urban policy during this period. This book raises timely questions about the role of art within the social, political, and physical landscape of cities. Featuring contributions from more than 20 noted scholars in fields including art history, urban planning, architecture, and cultural studies, this is the first publication to address an important shift in photographic, cinematic, and planning practices based on close observations of streets, neighborhoods, and seminal events in the country's three largest cities.

Résumé:
For many people, the name Porto Marghera conjures up images of pollution and the damage done by industry to the environment. Partly in disuse, Porto Marghera is a fascinating industrial area which up to now has been inaccessible to the general public. Fifteen Italian photographers were invited to take part in the project to record the very unusual urban landscape of Porto Marghera, a decisive area for the future of Venice which is on the threshold of profound changes. With an introduction by Phyllis Lambert.

Résumé:
"Into Stoas" is not a guidebook. It’s a mapping of Athens's neglected passageways – paths that connect streets and offer escape from the city’s stress and noise. It is an ode to a lost city of mixed use and to its diverse vernacular signs that still survive today. A call for presence at the “Commercial Triangle” of Athens, once a labyrinth ideal for inquisitive strolls, now undergoing blandification. An invitation to lose yourself in a city within a city, and keep these paths alive. This research project has a dual objective. To promote walking by revealing an alternative walking network in the heart of Athens and to document the images of the vernacular exit signs that constitute a part of the unarchived Greek design history. This second edition reflects on the transformation that has happened at the ''Commercial Triangle'' the last 12 years.
