Projet
AP178.S1.1983.PR05
Description:
The project series documents the Boutique Nina in Porto, Portugal. While the records were held in the office’s archives this project was assigned the number 20/80. The office assigned the date 1983 for this project. This project consisted of a 50 square metre fashion boutique located on Rua Firmeza. The shop's focal point was a curved marble staircase that led to a balcony, visable through the shop's large windows from the street. The project is recorded through drawings, photographic materials and some textual records dating from 1983. The drawings are mostly originals and consist of sketches, plans, sections, perspectives, details and axonometric drawings. The textual records consist of invoices, correspondence, material schedules and notes, while photographs and slides show plans and the built project.

Projet
AP143.S4.D8
Description:
File documents an executed project for a private gallery for the display and study of antique toys entitled Barenholtz Pavilion and also known as House I. The project was built as an addition to the existing residence of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Barenholtz on the corner of Rosedale Road and Galbreath Drive, Princeton, New Jersey. The architect of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard's residence is unknown. Material in this file was produced in 1967 and 1968. Eisenman explores the permutations of architectural elements at the basis of House I in over 300 conceptual sketches (DR1994:0129:001-339). Furniture and display layouts for the antique toys are also part of this group (DR1994:0129:276-282). There is an apparently complete set of nineteen working drawings for the addition, which consists of a two-storey gallery with display areas for toys on the first and second floors, and an entertainment area with fireplace, bar and restroom on the first floor (DR1994:0129:405-423). Eleven design development drawings are not by Eisenman; they were perhaps produced by Michael Erdman, whose name appears on the title block of some of the working drawings but whose role in this project has not been determined (DR1994:0129:340-350). File contains conceptual drawings, design development drawings, presentation drawings, working drawings, publication drawings, photographic materials, and textual records. Conceptual drawings include plans, axonometrics, elevations, sections, furniture layouts, and details. Design development drawings include plans, elevations, and site plans. Manuscripts include load calculations with bending moment diagrams. Presentation drawings include elevations, sections, and axonometrics. Publication drawings include axonometrics. Working drawings include site plans, plans, elevations, sections, and details. Textual records include notes, some illustrated. Photographic materials include views of a model and drawing.

Projet
AP056.S1.1995.PR01
Description:
This project series documents a competition entry for the Korean American Museum of Art and Cultural Centre in Los Angeles in 1995. The office identified the project number as 9501. Headed by Bruce Kuwabara, this project proposed a three-storey building with a tall rotunda as its focal point at the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Irolo Street. The design included spaces for galleries, offices, studios, a library, an outdoor terrace that wrapped the rotunda's exterior, and a large theatre that spanned the three-storey height. Traditional Korean gardens were to make up a large part of the museum's outdoor space. This project was never built. The project is recorded through original drawings dating from on or around 1995 that consist of sketches, presentation drawings, plans, elevations, sections, perspectives and axonometric drawings.

Projet
AP075.S1.1954.PR05
Description:
This project series documents Cornelia Hahn Oberlander's project for the Home '54 Design Competition for the Canadian Home Journal, in 1954. Oberlander worked on this proposal with architect Norman Rice, who designed the one-storey single-family house. The landscape design consists of a paved outdoor living space directly next to the living room with a curved fixed bench at the back of the house, as well as a quiet area with annual and perennial planting on the east edge of the site and a vegetable garden and sitting area facing the street. The project series contains only two presentation drawings showing floor plans, elevation and axonometric views of the house and landscape plans, and presentation panels of the same two drawings.
