Spanning six Nordic countries, the nineteen projects featured in this issue explore diverse pursuits, from the rehabilitation of industrial ports into lively urban centres, to questions of accessibility and the extension of habitable space onto and into bodies of water. Examples such as Lonna Sauna in Helsinki by OOPEAA and Bademaschinen in Oslo by ACT! and Borhaven Arkitekter continue the region’s historical wellness practices, while urban-scale developments like Copenhagen’s Nordhavn by Cobe tackle the challenge of designing for a future marked by climate change.

''AV Proyectos 129'' explores the architectural potential of colour at different scales, and three exhibitions in Madrid – reviewed by Luis Fernández-Galiano – serve as the introductory frame for a series of projects that are examples of this versatility: the detailed domestic intervention of Beatriz Ramo and Bernd Upmeyer, the unique housing by TEST, Wiki World, and selgascano, and the large-scale works by Padilla Nicás and BIG. Along this line, the architect and interior designer Javier Jiménez Iniesta, of Studio Animal, talks with ''AV Proyectos'' about his defense of chromatism as a project tool and not just an aesthetic whim.

This edition is dedicated to the work of the Swiss firm Christ & Gantenbein, and in particular the material aspects of their architecture. Emanuel Christ and Christoph Gantenbein opened their office in Basel in 1998, immediately after completing their studies at ETH Zurich. A chronological overview of their fundamental works since is provided, from the pioneering expansion of the Swiss National Museum to recent proposals for art museums in Barcelona and Antwerp. Accompanied by a text by Reto Geiser, it offers reflections on the intellectual intensity and geometric perseverance with which the architects approach their interventions, regardless of scale, function, or material.

Résumé:
The cinematic has been a springboard for the work of many influential artists, including Victor Burgin, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Stan Douglas, Nan Goldin, Douglas Gordon, Cindy Sherman, and Jeff Wall, among others. Much recent cinema, meanwhile, is rich with references to contemporary photography. Video art has taken a photographic turn into pensive slowness; photography now has at its disposal the budgets and scale of cinema. This addition to Whitechapel’s Documents of Contemporary Art series surveys the rich history of creative interaction between the moving and the still photograph, tracing their ever-changing relationship since early modernism.

Résumé:
This volume presents seventeen houses designed by the New York studio MOS Architects. "It is an article of faith for MOS that the house is like a small city. MOS think urbanistically through the architectural scale, insisting that even the smallest residential project speaks to a larger idea of ??the collective. But the idea if the city implied here is less the dense and fragmented metropolis of the early twentieth century, and more of the dispersed field-like condition of the late twentieth and twenty-first century city: more Los Angeles than New York or Berlin." Résumé:
This edition begins with a conversation with Pier Vittorio Aureli and MartinoTattara, the founders of Dogma, an architectural firm concerned with the relationship between architecture and the city. By focusing mostly on urban design and large-scale projects, they consult with municipalities and agencies for urban planning and architectural issues. Atypically, El Croquis is this time only featuring plans not yet constructed, including a model for a city of 4,000,000 Inhabitants, a proposal for 44 social housing units, and a prototype for boarding houses in London. Timely articles about urban transformation follow, including an interesting genealogy of housing for the laboring classes.
