Résumé:
The Swedish artist couple Mamma Andersson and Jockum Nordstrom have been at the forefront of contemporary figurative painting since the late 1980s. Updating Vuillard for a post-Hitchcock age, Andersson paints beguilingly eerie untenanted interiors and landscapes. Nordstrom's detailed collages, paintings and drawings occupy a more folkloric realm peopled by historical and contemporary characters enacting sexual and social roles across broad narrative panoramas. This publication showcases Andersson and Nordstrom's work from the late 1980s to the present day in over 200 full-color plates. Alongside these, it also includes family snapshots and source materials, a poem by Stig Claesson and an interview with Nordstrom by Marcel Dzama.

Résumé:
A rare exploration of the racial and class politics of architecture, Little White Houses examines how postwar media representations associated the ordinary single-family house with middle-class whites to the exclusion of others, creating a powerful and invidious cultural iconography that continues to resonate today. Drawing from popular and trade magazines, floor plans and architectural drawings, television programs, advertisements, and beyond, Dianne Harris shows how the depiction of houses and their interiors, furnishings, and landscapes shaped and reinforced the ways in which Americans perceived white, middle-class identities and helped support a housing market already defined by racial segregation and deep economic inequalities.

Résumé:
The end of the eighteenth century saw the start of a new craze in Europe: tiny portraits of single eyes that were exchanged by lovers or family members. Worn as brooches or pendants, these minuscule eyes served the same emotional need as more conventional mementoes, such as lockets containing a coil of a loved one’s hair. The fashion lasted only a few decades, and by the early 1800s eye miniatures had faded into oblivion. Unearthing these portraits in Treasuring the Gaze, Hanneke Grootenboer proposes that the rage for eye miniatures—and their abrupt disappearance—reveals a knot in the unfolding of the history of vision.

From his south-facing view we see a 'tischtennisplatte' or ping pong table used for a plethora of purposes – including a sun bed, a laundry counter, a kids' climbing frame, an exercise site, a family lunch spot, a refuge from busy streets, among various other uses – except from table tennis. Tomiyasu spent five years documenting the humble table and thanks to his sustained curiosity we observe the idiosyncrasies of human behaviour and social habits, as seasons change, scenes mutate and people come and go.

Résumé:
Located in the Pacific Palisades, the Kappe Residence was designed and built in 1965–67 by American architect and educator Ray Kappe. As Takashi Yanai writes in his essay, Kappe is ''a quiet giant within the local architectural community''. The house he designed for himself and his family follows a long tradition of forward-thinking residences that celebrate the temperate climate and inventive spirit of Los Angeles. Yoshio Futagawa's photographs reflect its perfect example of how a house can be so grounded in place, yet poetic in its spaces and materiality. The challenging site, with its underground springs and steep slope, speaks to Kappe's genius. With an interview by Thom Mayne.

Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier (1887–1965), is famous for transforming 20th-century architecture and urbanism. Less attention has been paid to his artistic production, although he began his career as a painter. Le Corbusier indeed studied under Charles L’Éplattenier and, together with the artist Amédée Ozenfant, founded the Purist movement in the manifesto After Cubism. Even after Le Corbusier turned to architecture, he continued to paint and draw. His thousands of drawings, rarely exhibited but meticulously stored in two watch cabinets from his family home, were particularly significant; he considered his work as a draftsman to be fundamental to his creative process.

The next year, the family moved into a single-room unit in a historic Western-style house. In this intimate setting, she continued to photograph, resulting in a wealth of images with a nostalgic familiarity and refined calmness. Résumé:
The dollhouse is both subversive and seductive. Dollhouses provide a microcosmic view of the world and preserve vanished aspects of daily life and culture. But they also present an idealized version of life, sometimes airbrushing out the more basic and functional elements of everyday living. This new volume uses the dollhouse’s contradictions to explore interior design, new technology, professions, and family relationships, considering such topics as the role of the domestic servant and the gendering of spaces and household roles. The V Museum of Childhood’s collection of dollhouses, representing homes and ways of living spanning three and a half centuries, provides the backdrop for these tales.

Palms have been used historically in landscaping, medicine, cooking, and fiber products from basketry to clothing. The ''Culiacán Botanical Garden'', dedicated to the conservation of Mexico’s biodiversity, is home to one of the country’s largest palm collections with more than 140 species. This publication indexes 105 of the nursery’s palms, with details about each species’ conservation status, geographical distribution, and the history of how they arrived at the ''Botanical Garden''.
