Résumé:
Marcel Dzama is a prolific artist who works in multiple disciplines, including sculpture, watercolour, ink, collage, and film. His art depicts anachronistic, fanciful, and subversive worlds that contain human figures, animals, and mythical hybrid creatures. Using a visual language strongly influenced by fables and masquerades, his complex narratives transport the viewer into an enigmatic world of life and death, calm and violence, where irony, ridicule, and sexual themes disguise allusions to contemporary social and political issues. This catalogue of drawings, dioramas, and other works is published on the occasion of an exhibition of Dzamas work at La Casa Encendida in Madrid.

Here are gathered key works from the artist’s oeuvre, from her famed entropic sculpture of the ‘70s to the works on paper created at the end of her long career. This fully illustrated publication is among the first to position Gego’s work in a global context, and features texts by curator Chus Martínez, head of the Institute of Art of the FHNW Academy of Arts and Design in Basel, Switzerland; art historian Kaira Cabañas; and Gego’s grandson, Daniel Crespin; as well as previously unpublished archival material. The book also includes "GEGO," a new poem by poet, artist and composer Anne Tardos, performing a linguistic intervention in Gego’s work.

Résumé:
The Japanese architect Takaharu Tezuka caused a stir in 2015 with his TEDtalk “The best kindergarten you’ve ever seen”. As the first text-focused publication, Tezuka Architects: "The yellow book" now provides an insight into the design philosophy of the internationally renowned architecture firm. Based on a lecture by Tezuka at Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD), this “pocket guide” in scale and feel introduces the architects’ way of thinking, using examples of seminal projects in recent years. Buildings such as the Roof House (2001), the Child Chemo House (2013), or the Fuji Kindergarten (2007) illustrate the powerful impact of Takaharu and Yui Tezuka’s design and show how architecture can contribute actively to building a better society.

Résumé:
From a dovecot in the Dutch village of Dorst to the Concert Hallin Bruges, from an art gallery in Whitechapel to the City Archives of Bordeaux, the oeuvre on which Robbrecht en Daem Architects has worked since its foundation in 1975 has developed a variety and maturity that stands out on the international stage. This insightful book tells the story of Paul Robbrecht, Johannes Robbrecht, and Hilde Daem from the 1980s: their research and interests, their “lost souls,” and their successes. Drawing on new and unpublished visual material, a picture and project accordion shows a wide selection of 63 projects that are divided into five key themes from different perspectives.
