"Always and never" is a one-off title by Ari Marcopolous combining old and new photographs in a unique body of work, thought to create a larger picture of Marcopoulos' work. "For every photograph that has been presented, there are hundreds more that he has not yet found the right moment to introduce. Timing is not just in relation to taking the shot, but also to its public exposure." states curator Kate Fowle in her text for the 2006 "Flow" exhibition catalog. Marcopoulos’s work is often talked about in the context of his engagement with subcultures (skateboarding, art, music). Non-descript skies, anonymous television footage, and unpopulated landscapes counter the action of extreme sports, the stage, or the street, for which he is most known for. The book is published on occasion of the exhibition "Always and Never" at Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan.

Comprised of two steel and concrete towers outfitted with 140 prefabricated living capsules, the ''Nakagin Capsule Tower'' in Tokyo is one of the most iconic and influential architectural marvels of the postwar period. A touchstone of the Metabolist movement, the tower was designed by the office of Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa (1934–2007) and completed between 1970 and 1972. Each capsule was intended for single occupancy and came outfitted with its own ensuite bathroom, a foldout desk, a telephone, a reel-to-reel tape player, a Sony color television and a "porthole" window overlooking the city. Michael Newman explores Prince's work and his revival of the image through photography—rephotographed reproduced photographs—after the impasses of conceptualism. Newman examines the relation of Prince's work to images appearing in illustrated magazines, advertising, and television during the artist's formative years and argues that the vintage TV series The Twilight Zone is crucial to understanding Prince's use of images in his work. Michael Newman is Associate Professor of Art History, Theory, and Criticism in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
