It aims to convey the idea that houseplants in modern society are more than mere decorations, they are precious companions that breathe alongside our lives. Through the scenes surrounding these plants, we sought to create a harmony where nature and art blend together, and to share that process with others. From small succulents on a shelf, to climbing vines on the wall, to the bright green hues that fill window sills, each space reflects our tastes and personal stories. In this exhibition, artist Lee Su presents works that highlight vibrant color contrasts, featuring a charming grandfather dressed in raincoats as colorful as fish. These cheerful paintings lift the viewer’s mood and are all brought together in a storybook format. About the Artist Lee Su began painting after being captivated by the colorful scenery of London during his travels. He mainly works with themes of grandfathers and fish, expressing his wish to age with wit and to live a life as colorful and varied as a fish’s hues. His favorite brand is YMC, which he finds appealing for its bold use of color, and his favorite artist is David Hockney, known for his use of bright, uplifting colors.

"The Canadians" playfully and affectionately reimagines one of the most revered photography books of the 20th century, Robert Frank’s The Americans. The source for the imagery is the print archive of The Globe and Mail, which contains more than 500,000 prints—24,000 of which have been donated to the newly formed Canadian Institute of Photography, housed within the National Gallery of Canada. Nearly 80 of these photographs have been selected for this book, and also form the basis for a national touring exhibition. These functionary press photographs, made to illustrate news stories—the state of the roads after a severe winter; a politician on the campaign trail; the opening of a new laundromat—hold no pretentions to be works of photographic art. However, taken together, they describe Canadian culture during an era of great transformation. Published in association with the Archive of Modern Conflict, the book begins with an insightful and irreverent introduction by Douglas Coupland, bringing together themes illuminated in these photographs, and taking us on a guided tour of a Canada gone, but not forgotten. "How strange it is to look at these photos of a Canada that was almost dead when I was a child," he writes, "the Canada of my parents and my grandparents, the Canada of the late 1950s and early ‘60s, a country in which, it would seem, people were born, became teenagers, and then, magically, at the age of 21, turned into chain-smoking 50-year olds with undiagnosed cancers."

Because so many of the buildings discussed are disintegrating or have been destroyed or altered beyond recognition, the book serves not only as a documentary and critical study but also as a preservation resource. Most of the photographs and plans have never been published outside of Serbia, if at all. In restoring this work to its rightful place in the history of modern architecture, the book also sheds new light on a number of other stories. These include the influence of Le Corbusier and of the Yugoslav avant-garde movement Zenitism and the impact of international modern movements on the theoretical underpinnings of Serbian modernism. One of the subplots follows the story of the Group of Architects of the Modern Movement in Belgrade and its four founding members, Milan Zlokovic, Branislav Kojic, Jan Dubovy, and Dusan Babic. Through anexamination of their work and that of other modern architects, most notably Dragisa Brasovan and Nikola Dobrovic, the book discusses the identity of Serbian modernism as it was established in the period from 1925 to 1940. The city is visually reconstructed and brought to life not only as a physical fabric but also as a social and political order—a city built within, upon, and over, resulting in a present-day richly layered urban environment. Each chapter attempts to capture a defining moment in the life trajectory of a city loved for all of its evocations and contradictions.
