Innovative reinterpretations of such relics that update existing building fabric in a way that goes beyond critical reconstruction or revitalization, such as the Toni Site in Zurich or the Île de Nantes, can be observed throughout Europe these days. The publication urbanRESET brings together succinct examples of this separate category of urban-planning from throughout Europe. The projects are presented in detail with plans and color illustrations. Interviews with key players and theoretical essays show how local processes of reinterpretation and reactivation can produce sustainable effects. urbanRESET sheds light on the common foundations of these works and condenses them into methodological inferences for a forward-looking urban praxis.

A journey from abstract to concrete that gradually reveals through the pages. Lastly, two pages of "abstract additions": number 10 is obtained with every possible combination of numbers by the use of colours. Luigi Veronesi (Milan, 1908-1998) always thought art as an instrument that involves all the aspects of the aesthetic experience, and investigated its relationship with the age of mechanization. Famous for his colour transpositions of music scores, he was a member of the MAC (Movement for Concrete Art) and one of the most “european” among Italian abstract painters. He also was one of the first authors to use photography in childrens’ books.

Moving from antiquity to the present and back, Michael Marder provides an integrated examination of philosophies of nature drawn from traditions around the world to illuminate the theological, mythical, and philosophical origins of the contemporary environmental emergency. From there, he probes the contradictions and deadlocks of our current predicament to propose a philosophy of nature for the twenty-first century.
