Résumé:
With a deep anticolonial and antiracist critique of what “conservation” currently is, this volume presents an alternative vision—one already working—of the most effective and just way to fight against biodiversity loss and climate change. This powerful collection of voices takes us to the heart of the climate justice movement and the struggle for life and land across the globe. With Indigenous Peoples and their rights at its center, the book exposes the brutal and deadly realities of colonial and racist conservation for people around the world, while revealing the problems of current climate policy approaches that do nothing to tackle the real causes of environmental destruction.

Résumé:
In ''Dandelions'', Thea Lenarduzzi pieces together her family history through four generations’ worth of migration between Italy and England, and the stories scattered like seeds along the way. Where, or what, is home? What has it meant, historically and personally, to be 'Italian' or 'English', or both in a culture that prefers us to choose? What does it mean to have roots? Or to have left a piece of oneself somewhere long since abandoned? At the heart of this book brimming with the lives of remarkable and apparently unremarkable people is Thea’s grandmother Dirce, a former seamstress, who, now approaching 100, is a repository of tales that are by turns unpredictable, unreliable, significant. And that lead us deeper. There’s the one about Mussolini’s modern Icarus who crashed into the murk of a lake; about the Manchester factory worker who wanted only to be seen; about the shadowy demon who visits in your sleep; and the monument to a murdered politician that, when it rains, runs the colour of blood. Through the journeys of Dirce and her relatives, from the Friuli to Sheffield and Manchester and back again, a different kind of history emerges, in which self and place are warp and weft, tightly woven, with threads left hazardously trailing.

Résumé:
In recent years risography has captured the attention of printers and artists, especially in independent and self-publishing circles, given the technical and visual qualities it offers. Varied and vivid spot colors, the warmth of the finishes, and occasional imperfections in uniformity and register are just some of these attractive features. Designed mainly for high-volume photocopying and printing, Risographs are far less expensive than conventional photocopy machines and laser or ink printers. Rich in illustrations, pictures, detailed instructions and infographics, this practical guide to Risograph printing will teach readers how to set up a Risograph, how to prepare files to print, how to make overprints and knockouts, how to choose paper, how to handle freshly printed works, what ink to use and about any additional equipment they will need to become a Riso master. An ideal primer for novice users of a Riso printer, readers will also learn how to apply artistic printing techniques that will allow them to print with brighter, more expressive, saturated colors that, unlike photocopy ink, do not fade over time. The book also includes profiles of notable printers, with one featured work of Riso art and the printing technique used.

The publication cites Ed Ruscha’s iconic artist’s book ''Twentysix gasoline stations'' from 1963, and thus spans an arc from the automobile culture of the American Sixties to our own European present, questioning the direction in which we wish to shape this development. A hairdresser, an Asian market, signs upon signs, curtains, and—behind these—apartments. At first glance, a street like any other, but something irritates. Finally, you realize that the images depict only vacancies. The buildings on Waldeggstrasse have been unoccupied for ten years, and it will be almost another ten years before the “gap” is closed to form an inner-city expressway axis. The images by the Austrian photo artist Otto Hainzl link the dramaturgy of social life with questions about urban development concepts.

Résumé:
Wood is without a doubt en-vogue with its impressive natural qualities. The residences presented in this volume are vivid manifestations of Frank Lloyd Wright's statements that wood is "universally beautiful to man" and "the most humanly intimate of all materials." The selected contemporary projects from around the world demonstrate the sheer endless possibilities for the use of timber in architecture and interior design. The shown architectural solutions emphasize the unparalleled advantages of this renewable building material, both in terms of design and function. Furthermore, they highlight the amazing versatility of wood, with a special focus on a large number of recently developed new techniques, processing options, and innovations. Above all, wooden architecture is a promising opportunity for architects to work towards a more CO2-neutral future.
