For decades, she has broken boundaries in iconic works such as "The Artist Is Present" (2010), where she sat in silence across from members of the public at the Museum of Modern Art for eight hours a day for three months, and "Rhythm 0" (1974), a six-hour performance in which she stood next to a table holding seventy-two objects, including a scalpel and a loaded gun, and a sign suggesting audience members could do to her whatever they wanted. Gathered from interviews, lectures, writings, and other sources, "Abramovic-isms" is a unique collection of quotations that offers a window into the mind of this iconic trailblazer.

To sell this material, Leiber produced a series of 52 iconic catalogs between 1992 and 2010. Far from your ordinary dealer catalog, Leiber’s catalogs paid homage to the kind of historic printed matter that he bought and sold, mimicking iconic publications like Wallace Berman’s Semina journal and the exhibition catalog for ''Documenta V'' (1972). Leiber’s reputation spread via these unique volumes, which included works by John Baldessari, Lynda Benglis, Ray Johnson, Lucy Lippard, Allan Kaprow, Yayoi Kusama, Claes Oldenburg, Ed Ruscha, Lawrence Weiner and many more.

An exploration into media and architecture, Everything All at Once features the experimental work of the New York City-based studio MOS. By exchanging plans and sections for software and film, the firm moves beyond the static forms of traditional architectural discourse and exposes a working technique that is inventive, playful and primitive. In this vibrant publication, partners Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample weave together a visual narrative of computation, representation and design. Showcasing over twenty five projects on screen and in built form, including the acclaimed thatch covered structures from the 2009 PS1 After Party and the mylar weather balloon installation at the 2010 Venice Biennale, the book provides a unique look at the process of one of the most innovative firms at work today.

Daniel Kiss examines the urban development of Budapest from 1990 to 2010. This period is characterized by the significant decline in communally town planning: given the structural legacies of socialist urbanization, the decentralization of government and resources, and the impact of a post-socialist culture struggle, a trend is being analyzed in which nebulous competencies lead to unclear and thus to a failure of higher-level planning. The ensuing consequence is an increase in large, investment-driven projects: it is characteristic of these privately financed projects that they do not submit to higher level control, in particular when these control bodies are rather weak. This model-based analysis presents the phenomenon as exemplary of the development in post-socialist cities.

I’m Here is your typical boy-robot-librarian-meets-girl-robot-free-spirit, boy-robot-librarian-gets-girl-robot-free-spirit… in truth, I’m Here, a whimsical and touching look at love among robots in contemporary L.A., isn’t typical of anything, and neither is this charming book, which provides spreads of color stills from the movie. I’m Here isn’t drawn or stop-motion animation; the movie is live action, with the actors wearing wonderfully awkward costumes concocted of obsolete computer parts.

4th of October, 2010 at 12.25pm in Ajka, Veszprém county, Hungary: around a million cubic meters of toxic waste were released after the rupture of the retaining wall in one of the reservoirs used for the accumulation of MAL aluminum company trash. The spill reached two meters high and started a destructive race trying to release its energy, flooding the nearby Devecser and Kolontár villages. Ten human casualties were counted and material damages were impossible to measure, including the destruction or irreparable deterioration of numerous houses, the disappearance of infrastructures and the poisoning of dozens of fields. These photos have been taken six months after the accident when silence takes place of the headlines, and just The Line is left.

Résumé:
When planes crash, bridges collapse, and automobile gas tanks explode, we are quick to blame poor design. But Henry Petroski says we must look beyond design for causes and corrections. Known for his masterly explanations of engineering successes and failures, Petroski here takes his analysis a step further, to consider the larger context in which accidents occur. In To Forgive Design he surveys some of the most infamous failures of our time, from the 2007 Minneapolis bridge collapse and the toppling of a massive Shanghai apartment building in 2009 to Boston’s prolonged Big Dig and the 2010 Gulf oil spill. These avoidable disasters reveal the interdependency of people and machines within systems whose complex behavior was undreamt of by their designers, until it was too late.

In 2010, Liao began photographing Coney Island during a period of transition, for both the place and the artist. A new incarnation of Luna Park opened to the public, the municipal government actively engaged in redevelopment, and the area visibly transformed. At the same time, Liao’s approach to picture making changed as he experimented with new strategies and techniques. He started the project working with traditional transparency film. Although he had always used digital technology to transform the film images into a finished image, he slowly introduced digital picture-making technology to the process of recording the scenes. The resulting large-scale prints have a visual sweep often associated with cinema, encompassing the viewer and providing a strong sense of place. Edition of 500 copies
