Each of Hadid’s dynamic and innovative works builds on over 30 years of experimentation and research in the interrelated fields of urbanism, architecture and design. True to Hadid’s interdisciplinary approach to architecture, all mediums will be covered here. Having first achieved international recognition through her striking images and designs, Zaha Hadid is now widely known as an innovator who consistently tests the boundaries of architecture, urbanism and design. One of her most important "testing fields" has been her drawings. Résumé:
Reconnaissance de la rivière est une sorte d'ouvrage d'art, à la fois bas-relief et architecture. De ce lieu, une gorge encaissée qui n'est accessible qu'à la saison des basses eaux, il a d'abord été fait une image : un panorama photographique, constitué de sept images appareillées entre elles. Comment l'esthétique, la géographie, la poésie et la photographie peuvent-elles respectivement rendre compte d'un objet qui, comme la rivière, est tout à la fois une réalité physique (géographique et géologique), et bien plus que ce que les yeux voient ? Davantage que l'ouvrage descriptif vers lequel elles s'efforcent de tendre, on comprendra que ces approches cherchent avant tout à se rapprocher de la rivière, à la comprendre mieux, à mieux comprendre aussi les raisons qu'elles ont de chercher à se reconnaître en elle. Elles voudraient dire leur admiration et leur reconnaissance à l'égard de la rivière, dire en quoi elles lui sont reconnaissables.
