It's my hope that the continuous flow of aesthetic accidents in this book will evoke a sense of awe in the everyday world similar to what I experience while I'm out photographing in the streets and alleys of Montreal, '100 sculptural circumstances' is a call to action that challenges the viewer to be fascinated by the world, and invites them into the embrace of the alchemy of the mundane, which is so very central to my photographic aesthetic.''

Résumé:
What aesthetic practices have Palestinians been employing throughout their revolutionary anti-colonial tradition, both historically and in contemporary times? How can we read the performative gestures, image-making techniques, and singing replete inPalestine’s streets as ones embedded within a collective psychosocial and material experience and not as arbitrary isolated events? In An Echo in Search of its Shadow, Aesthetics of the Repressed Adam HajYahia and Haitham Haddad formulate an aesthetic theory of revolt by examining anti-colonial praxis. Unfolding through analysis, image-making, and poetics, HajYahia and Haddad assemble a new framework from which to understand dialectics between the visual and the audial, body and soul, form and content.

"Verdigris / Ambergris" completes a twelve-year suite of works by Paul Graham focused on life’s transience and our mortality. This pair of sibling books is centered on people scanning the infinite horizon as they look out over land (Verdigris) and sea (Ambergris). Interleaved with these contemplative portraits in the first volume are images of cherry blossoms and in the second images of the setting sun. These photographs are made respectively in a park overlooking post-industrial New Jersey, in which Graham has worked for the past seven years, and along the northern coast of Long Island, where there is a long tradition of watching the setting sun.

Résumé:
''Object Lessons'' is a series of short, beautifully designed books about the hidden lives of ordinary things. ''Recipe'' reveals the surprising lessons that recipes teach, in addition to the obvious instructions on how to prepare a dish or perform a process. These include lessons in hospitality, friendship, community, family and ethnic heritage, tradition, nutrition, precision and order, invention and improvisation, feasting and famine, survival and seduction and love. A recipe is a signature, as individual as the cook's fingerprint; a passport to travel the world without leaving the kitchen; a lifeline for people in hunger and in want; and always a means to expand one's worldview, if not waistline.

The issue of gender inequality in architecture has been part of the profession’s discourse for many years, yet the continuing gender imbalance in architectural education and practice remains a difficult subject. This book seeks to change that. It provides the first ever attempt to move the debate about gender in architecture beyond the tradition of gender-segregated diagnostic or critical discourse on the debate towards something more propositional, actionable and transformative. To do this, A Gendered Profession brings together a comprehensive array of essays from a wide variety of experts in architectural education and practice, touching on issues such as LGBT, age, family status, and gender-biased awards.
