The missing oak slats on benches around Lisbon were replace with new hand inlayed pieces. Inlays were taken from both traditional portuguese Donna Maria furniture designs and local maps. This not only made the benches useable again but brought the designs often only seen by the rich, to the streets for all to enjoy.
