Join us on Thursday 25 September for the premiere of Everlasting (2025), an experimental short documentary film and installation by Haudenosaunee artist Iako’tsi:rareh Amanda Lickers, CCA’s 2023–2025 Indigenous Land Restitution Research Creation Fellow. The event will begin at 6pm in the Paul Desmarais Theatre with the screening of the film and a talk by Amanda Lickers.
Blending documentary and archival research, Everlasting challenges the colonial framework of terra nullius and affirms Indigenous peoples’ enduring relationships to land across time. Set in a shifting urban landscape, the film celebrates Indigenous bodies, communities, and ways of being that refuse colonial boundaries—presenting sovereignty as an everlasting condition.
After the screening and opening talk, the evening will conclude with a celebration in the Shaughnessy House from 7pm to 9pm with live music, food, and drinks.
This event will be held in English and is free, but space is limited, so registration is required. Admission to the museum is included in your registration.
