Placekeeping practices extend beyond the preservation of physical spaces. They centre instead on unbroken ties to territory that stretch out through living cultural transmission, Indigenous presence, and community relationships to land.
Join us on 13 November at 6pm with Indigenous artists and practitioners Brooke Rice, Autumn Godwin, Marnie Jacobs, and Amanda Lickers to engage with placekeeping. Rooted in acts of reciprocity and land-based knowledge teachings, their work resists erasure by honouring natural cycles and fostering continuity between past, present, and future. Through hide tanning, community gardening, food and seed sovereignty, they affirm that place is not only where we are, but how we remember, relate, and care.
This event is organized in conjunction with the exhibition Everlasting.
It will be held in English and is free of charge. As space is limited, registration is required.
If the activity you are interested in is full, do not hesitate to arrive ten minutes in advance to register on a waiting list. It is possible that places will become free before the beginning of the activity.
