In advance of the exhibition The fortune of the city is that it has never been perfect, we invite the public to collaborate in transcribing Álvaro Siza’s texts and annotations as part of our commitment to describing the archive and making it accessible for scholarly research.
For our first online transcription project, we have put a selection of Siza’s sketchbooks in the CCA Collection online. We invite you to decipher Siza’s texts and annotations in Portuguese, French, Italian, and English, written alongside his sketches and drawings.
To participate, please visit FromThePage to create a free account, view the digitized sketchbook pages, and start transcribing.
Peter Testa wrote about the Siza notebooks in our Collection for one of our first Find and Tell projects in 2018. You can also browse the Finding Aid for the Álvaro Siza fonds | CCA.
You can search for everything here—our exhibitions, events, collection, articles, and bookstore. If you have any questions, please email us at publications@cca.qc.ca.
