Join us for an intimate afternoon of film shorts by regional Indigenous filmmakers, curated by multidisciplinary Haudenosaunee artist Iako’tsi:rareh Amanda Lickers in Shaughnessy House, former home to late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Canadian Pacific Rail barons. This afternoon invites you to be a part of the re-storying of Shaughnessy House through a lens of placekeeping: lounging in the salon with hot tea, building connections over light refreshments between screenings. We invite you to take a collective pause while subverting the colonial legacy’s of this well-restored heritage site, animating the space with themes of Indigenous resistance, refusal, and reawakening through narrative sovereignty.

This event is organized in conjunction with the exhibition Everlasting.
