Join us for a weekend of screenings, hands-on activities, and guided tours exploring Álvaro Siza’s approach to housing and the city. Presented as part of the Journées de la culture’s architecture tour, “Hey, salut l’archi!” organized by Kollectif, the weekend offers different ways to discover the exhibition The Fortune of the City Is That It Has Never Been Perfect through film, exhibition, and explorations of how places are designed, transformed, and inhabited.

The CCA will be free and open to all throughout the weekend.

Film screening - Vizinhos

2pm to 5pm

Join us for a screening of Vizinhos, a film series by Candida Pinto, presented in collaboration with the Festival International du Film sur l’Art (FIFA). The series of documentaries follows Álvaro Siza as he revisits four housing projects in Porto, The Hague, Venice, and Berlin, and meets residents who share their experiences of living in these buildings and neighbourhoods.

Originally produced in 2016 for the exhibition Neighbourhood: Where Álvaro meets Aldo, presented at the Portuguese Pavilion at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.

Family activity – Building the City

Explore the world of architecture through playful games. Children can build, experiment, and imagine while discovering how spaces are designed, transformed, and inhabited.

Guided tour – The Fortune of the City Is That It Has Never Been Perfect

Discover Álvaro Siza’s approach to the city through a selection of projects, drawings, photographs, and other materials in the exhibition. The tour considers how architecture responds to the character, history, landscape, and everyday life of a place.

Admission to the activities is free on both days as part of the Journées de la culture and « Hey, salut l’archi! » by Kollectif and open to all. No need for registration.
