The University Is Now on Air: Broadcasting Modern Architecture

Event, Main galleries, 14 November, 6pm

To open the exhibition The University Is Now on Air: Broadcasting Modern Architecture, curator Joaquim Moreno, with Tim Benton, Professor Emeritus of Art History at the Open University, and Elizabeth McKellar, Professor of Architectural and Design History at the Open University, make statements on the historical role and contemporary status of the Open University project. The exhibition examines how the creation of the Open University and the course A305, History of Architecture and Design, 1890–1939, radically mobilized new media environments for educational purposes, and provides a key case study in the history of mass media and mass education.

The presentation will be followed by the opening of the exhibition.
