CCA elsewhere, 16 May 2024 to 19 May 2024

CCA Publications is exhibiting at the 5th edition of the African Art Book Fair. In addition to introducing new and recent titles, the CCA contributes to the fair with a presentation of the CCA’s wider curatorial work, the screening of the documentary كیف لا نغرق في السراب / To Remain in the No Longer (CCA, 2023, 38min) directed by Joyce Joumaa, and the participation in a panel discussion on architectural publishing alongside Romane Madede-Galan, Ilze Wolff (Wolff Architects), Daniel Duperroy, and the curator of the CCA c/o Dakar program, Nzinga B. Mboup.

The African Art Book Fair is an art project conceived as an independent publishing fair with an exhibition and discussion forum that focuses on a set of themes related to publications on art, photography, design, experimental music, open culture, and activism.

Traces of the future: architectural publishing as an archaeology of the possible
Publishing in architecture plays an essential role in the critical and dynamic creation of theoretical, material, and immaterial spaces. How does publishing help to unfold multiple definitions of space? How does publishing encourage a diversity of perspectives? Is publishing a tool that challenges established norms to encourage new architectural practices? Speakers include Nzinga Mboup, Caroline Geffriaud, Romane Madede-Galan, Albert Ferré, Ilze Wolff (Wolff Architects), Daniel Duperroy.

Screening of ﻛﯾف ﻻ ﻧﻐرق ﻓﻲ اﻟﺳراب / L’Inertie du Vide / To Remain in the No Longer (38 min | 2023 | Arabic with French subtitles), by Joyce Joumaa, the CCA’s 2021-2022 Emerging Curator, followed by a Q&A with Giovanna Borasi.
