The International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) is dedicated to promoting and showcasing films about art and media arts on an international scale. It encourages the discovery and appreciation of art through cinema by supporting the creation and distribution of documentary films, interactive works, and virtual reality projects. Through its cultural and educational distribution network, FIFA highlights the work of artists working in film, video, and the visual arts, fostering a deeper dialogue between art and the public.
As part of the festival’s 44th edition, the CCA, as a presenting partner, is proud to co-present three films featured in the program. Full descriptions of the films are available on the FIFA website.
Films co-presented by the CCA:
Miralles focuses on the Spanish architect Enric Miralles. He died at the age of 45 from a brain tumor, only a few years after winning the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, and is buried in the Igualada cemetery, one of his emblematic works. The film unfolds as a series of variations, lingering on the diversity of his projects. School, parliament, cemetery: through these works, the architect observed life in all its facets with passion and acuity.
(Mexico, Spain, Maria Mauti, 2025, 90 minutes, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, with English subtitles)
Copan features the iconic Copan building designed by Oscar Niemeyer at the heart of São Paulo, which houses over five thousand residents across 120,000 square metres. Inside, a heated election for an administrator position unfolds as the longstanding officeholder resists change. Beyond its walls, Brazil faces a decisive election between Lula da Silva and Jair Bolsonaro.
(France, Brail, Carine Wallauer, 2025, 98 minutes, Portuguese, with English subtitles)
Out of the Picture explores how women have been made invisible in the history of architecture, a discipline long dominated by men. Through the voices of architects like Denise Scott Brown, historians, and researchers, the film investigates the cultural and institutional mechanisms that erased their contributions, and highlights the solidarities and strategies developed by women to reclaim visibility and legitimacy. Through archives, interviews, and animated sequences, the documentary reveals how power and history determine who gains access to the frame and who remains excluded.
(Belgium, France, An.Ash Smolar, 2025, 88 minutes, French, English, Spanish, with French subtitles)
