- Contemporary binding consists of purple cloth-covered boards and spine. There are gold gilt inscriptions and decorations on the cover and spine. Endpapers are of yellowish white paper. Pages and secondary supports are of brownish white paper with gold gilt edging. The book is comprised of a title page, table of contents, 240 pages of text and 100 stereographs. Some of the stereographs have come unbound from the book. Foxing throughout book.
