Elevation and plan for a triumphal arch for the possesso of Innocent XIII, Rome

- This project is for a temporary construction or macchina in the form of a triumphal arch with freestanding columns. The arch is surmounted by an empty shield carrying papal regalia. The sculptural program includes freestanding figure statues on the base, cornice, and attic levels. The bottom quarter of the sheet contains a plan of the arch at the base level.

- The sheet has a horizontal old fold and a small tear at the b. which is repaired with scotch tape. The drawing is framed by a pen and brown ink border just inside the edge of the sheet.
inscribed - by a contemporary hand ? in pen and brown ink, verso, l.r.: "go Archi Trionfale"; and u.r.: "puo [?] AD Maggio 17[illeg.] / [illeg.] Arco [illeg.] Campo Vacino [?]" [both inscriptions written along the r. side] numbered - by an unknown hand, in graphite, u.l.: "7"; and verso, l.r.: "7"
