Plan for a decorated ceiling, including an allegory of sculpture in the central panel
between 1715 and 1773
- This rendering is for a project for decorating an irregularly-shaped ceiling. Much of the design was probably intended to be executed in stucco. The format of the decoration, with a central oval and four panels on each side, suggests that the ceiling is coved. The scene in the central oval is an allegory of Sculpture.
