Unfinished plan for a decorated ceiling, including an allegory of divine wisdom and the arts
between 1715 and 1773
- This rendering of a project for decorating a rectangular ceiling is unfinished, the central panel is completed but only one corner is shown. Much of the design was probably intended to be executed in stucco. The format of the decoration, with a cropped rectangular central panel and a thick decorative border with sways, garlands, and putti, suggests that the ceiling is coved. The scene in the central panel is an allegory of Music.
