This project series documents the Case Di Palma in Stintino, Italy. Included in the series are drawings for two built projects for the Di Palma Family. The first one, in 1958, for a vacation house, was a collaboration between Riva and Freddy Drugman. The second project was for three summer houses separeted by courtyards, which Riva worked on in 1971-1972.

The project series contains design development drawings, including a site plan, sections, furnishing details, floor plans, and interior and exterior elevations.

Arrangement:
Most of the materials in this project series have been kept in their original order. Only the file AP180.S1.1971.PR01.002 arranged under this project series has drawings that were rearranged by the archivist during processing. These drawings were previously mixed with other drawings for the two other related projects: Case Zazzu, Stintino, Italy (see project series AP180.S1.1971.PR02 in this fonds), and Casa Tabanelli, Stintino, Italy (see project series AP180.S1.1972.PR01 in this fonds). The drawings were rearranged to keep the material related to this project together.
Archivist's note:
  • A selection of drawings in this project series were shown in the exhibition "Rooms You May Have Missed: Bijoy Jain, Umberto Riva (2014)" at the Canadian Centre for Architecture
Location:

Stintino Italy

Related units of description:
  • This project is related to two other vacation houses design by Riva around the same years: Case Zazzu, Stintino, Italy (see project series AP180.S1.1971.PR02 in this fonds) and Casa Tabanelli, Stintino, Italy (see project series AP180.S1.1972.PR01 in this fonds). All three projects were built on neighbouring lands and had similar designs.
