Notes:
Author identified as Mad[am]e J[ustine] W[ynne] C[omtesse] d[e] R[osenberg]. In the 1780s, Wynne lived as a guest of Angelo Quirini at his country retreat, the Villa of Alticchiero, near Padua. Encouraged by Querini, and her romantic companion at the time, Bartolommeo Benincasa, Wynne wrote a description of the villa, with details of Querini's important collection of antiquities which adorned the gardens. Dedicatory preface by Comte [Bartolommeo] Benincasa, addressed to William Petty, marquis de Lansdown, is dated Aug. 15, 1787 in Venice.
The engraved ill. t.p. is signed: Giovanni de Pian sculp.
Text illustrated with 29 numbered engravings of statuary in the gardens of the country estate "Alticchiero" of Mr. le Senateur Angelo Quirini near Padua. The first plate (unnumbered) is a large illustrated plan of the estate, detailing the houses, gardens, and pavillions, with title "Plan de la campagne de Mr. le Sénateur Angelo Quirini à Alticchiero."
