A Royal Photographic Society publication.
The Linked Ring was a group of prominent photographers that broke away from the Photographic Society of Great Britain in the late Victorian and early Edwardian period. Almost a secret society, it aimed to cater for those "who delight in photography solely for its artistic capabilities". At the height of the movement, which was "unlinked" in 1910, there were seventy-four Links, including prominent photographers from America, Austria, Belgium, France and Germany, as well as Britain.
