Book VI, planned by Serlio to contain the description of the habitations of all degrees of men, was originally published in 1966 from MS 1096 in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Munich. In Serlio's Tutte l'opere d'architettura, 1584, published as a 7 vol. work, the Italian original of this title, Libro estraordinario, was substituted as the 6th vol.
