A housing survey which commenced in Halifax August 1960 to determine: (1) the extent to which demand is running ahead of supply in order to indicate approximately the extent of the problem; (2) the amount of available housing which is substandard because of dilapidation, crowding or other factors; and (3) the areas within Metropolitan Halifax which are suitable for housing development and those which should be developed for other purposes.
