"In the contemporary architecture, some drawings on papers are far more attractive than the actual buildings on the ground. Of course those drawings are skillful, this attractiveness are derived from the deep pictorial gusto of their own. The harmony of the architect's heart comes from a piece of his drawing work. This harmony sublimes a drawing into a picture. In other words, a drawing is organizing a peculiar mental space which is different from an established picture. Of course it has a pragmatic effect. Seeing the drawing on a paper, you can catch a glimpse of the drawer's theory and logic on the actually erected building and his vision for "the architecture". Works are limited to those of architects in their 20s to 40s in this book."--book jacket.
