"Here, there, lucky, unlucky; on the way and at the destination at the same time. HB. The raw material of my practice is to be found in cities. My imagery reveals a sublime banality, arresting moments that have no retreat. I delight in the discovery of weird narrative in urban excess. My work has a self-reflective edge, dealing with what a photograph is and what it is to look and whether or not there is such a thing as reality. The Onestar Press version of Lucky Box is my 7th book and has been published simultaneously with a colour edition by Dewi Lewis Publishing in Britain. The Onestar Press version gives a completely different reading to the work. Because the book's layout has been altered substantially and as the images are reproduced in black and white the relationship of the pictures to each other has been redefined. While the main thrust of my practice has been through published work, I have also exhibited internationally and have work in major public and private collections.
