Summary:

The project ‘An Inventory of Experience’ is an on-going correspondence between the contributors and several architects from Belgium and abroad, investigating the impact of a new building on its urban and collective context. The correspondence is conducted under the pseudonym of L. Peretz and poses a simple question: how do you deal with the question of context, and specifically those contextual elements that resist explication? In addition, Peretz proposes a so-called ‘inventory of experience’, to be included alongside the more technical inventories and surveys which are usually included in project briefs and their accompanying spreadsheets of endless data. Parallel to this correspondence, a stack of similar letters will be present for the visitors to take home and write their own response to L. Peretz.
