Seit über 20 Jahren beschäftigt sich der Tessiner Architekt Martino Pedrozzi mit dem Wiederaufbau von verfallenen Alpwirtschaftsbauten hoch oben in den Tessiner Tälern Valle di Blenio und Val Malvaglia. Die Interventionen betreffen den Monte Sceru (1968 m ü. M.) und die Alpe Giumello (2057 m ü. M.) Dabei wurden die verbliebenen Steine, die früher als Baumaterial für die Bauernhäuser gedient haben, gesammelt und zu ihrem ursprünglichen Standort zurückgebracht.0Die Rekomposition der Ruinen ist eine Massnahme für den Landschaftsschutz, den Wiederaufbau der Häuser als Orientierungspunkte in der Region und die Wiederherstellung des öffentlichen Raums. Der Beitrag ist auch ein immaterieller Akt der Pietät gegenüber der Zivilisation, die vor uns gelebt hat. Die Rekompositionen sprechen die Problematik des 'Verlassens' an: ein konstantes Phänomen in der Geschichte der Menschheit aufgrund von Konflikten, Klimawandel, wirtschaftlichen Veränderungen, Naturkatastrophen usw. In diesem Fall betrifft das 'Verlassen' Bergsiedlungen, die einer seit Kurzem verschwundenen Alpwirtschaft dienten.
