The first workshop, "Identité urbaine: penser la ville", deals with the issue of urban-planning strategies and their implementation. Moderated by Daniel Latouche, a researcher at the Institut national de recherche scientifique (INRS) and columnist with the Montréal daily Le Devoir, the workshop features Jean-Claude Germain, historian, playwright and professor at the National Theatre School of Canada; Jean-Paul Dollé, philosopher and professor at the École des Hautes Études urbaines in Paris; and Roger Nicolet, former chairman of the Union of Regional and Local Municipalities of Québec.
The second workshop, "Le Savoir-faire urbain: l'exemple de l'École de Montréal", highlights the unique approach to urban-planning analysis and research applied in Montréal. CCA founder and director Phyllis Lambert moderates the workshop, which includes Georges Adamczyk, professor and director of the Centre de design de l'UQAM; Melvin Charney, architect and artist; Irena Latek, assistant professor at the École d'architecture at the Université de Montréal; François Gagné, architect at the Service d'habitation et de développement urbain (SHDU); Jean-Louis Cohen, historian; and Serge Carreau, assistant director of the SHDU.
The third workshop, "Le projet urbain: stratégie de mise en oeuvre", explores the strategies applied in the implementation of urban projects such as Faubourg Québec. Moderated by Michel Gariépy, urban planner and dean of the Faculté de l'aménagement at the Université de Montréal, the workshop brings together Pierre-Luc Dumas, architect at the Société d'habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM) and planning director for the Faubourg Québec project; Jean-Pierre Buffi, architect; Philip O'Brien, developer and president of Devencore Inc.; Alex Krieger, architect with Chan & Krieger Associates in Boston; and Alan Knight, associate professor of architecture at the Faculté de l'aménagement at the Université de Montréal.

Audio recording of a colloquium held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Nov. 11-12, 1994. International and local experts convene to exchange ideas during three workshops focusing on intervention in the urban environment. The event, organized by the CCA in association with the Société d'habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM), the Service de l'habitation et du développement urbain (SHDU), and the Faculté de l'aménagement at the Université de Montréal, was held in the context of the exhibition "Stratégies urbaines : projets récents" = "Urban revisions : current projects for the public realm", on view at the CCA from Oct. 19, 1994-Jan. 8, 1995.
