Summary:

An Imaginary Line / An Imaginary Line takes over from the exhibition catalog Françoise Sullivan. Resplendent Trajectories / Radiant Trajectories (Galerie de l'UQAM, 2017) to bring together recently updated knowledge and contextualize it in the sense of a more defined interaction between the development of the artist's thought and his corpus of the 1970s. Like a story which is embodied in the places where Sullivan lived, in particular Italy, the work is interested particularly to her work linked to conceptual art and anchored in photography, film and performative actions There are numerous quotes and often new information from the artist herself or from her archives. pages, we discover works in the context of an exhibition, several of which are previously unpublished, as well as a portfolio section which describes and illustrates around thirty works from the 1970-1980 decade. Finally, the last part acts as an album of works. memories. It is made up of photographs, notes and documents which, in turn, refine our understanding of this pivotal period in Sullivan's practice, as close as possible to her fusional dimension as a woman, mother, artist and citizen." --Leslibraires.ca.
