"The re-edition of Another Approach on the Works of Álvaro Siza Contemporary Documentary Photography on Portuguese Architecture is now published in two autonomous volumes in Portuguese and English, with a new graphic design and integrating a second case study composed of two new photographic series and new texts.The book is based on the research work that has been developed at FAUP since 2015 around Contemporary Documentary Photography on Portuguese Architecture, as well as a particular study on the different perceptions and representations of a set of architectural buildings designed by architect Álvaro Siza that are photographed by different photographers. The conversation will be held in Portuguese and includes the presence of architect Álvaro Siza.This updated and extended new edition of the book is in english and has a second case study comprising two new photography projects by Mark Durden and João Leal also focused on Álvaro Siza ́s architectural work, being organized into 7 chapters or main sections. The first opening pages present several texts coming from authors who were invited to write about the book and its author.The first chapter, On the book Another Approach on the Works of Álvaro Siza: Contemporary Documentary Photography on Portuguese Architecture, introduces and provides a brief outline of the organization of the book, listing its main chapters, and then goes on to explain the Contemporary Documentary Photography on Portuguese Architecture project in greater detail. The second chapter, On the works of Álvaro Siza, introduces and justifies the works of architecture selected for this book. The third chapter, On the relationship between Architecture and Photography, develops a theoretical text on the relationship between the universes of Architecture and Photography comprising two sections focusing on the Portuguese and international panorama. The fourth chapter, On the photographic projects of the photographers, introduces and succinctly contextualizes the individual photographical project of eac author.
