The Indra Kagis McEwen collection documents Indra McEwen's research and writing, including some of her student work. The bulk of the collection is composed of notes and bibliographical references which are recorded on index cards and housed in plastic boxes, each of which is devoted to a specific theme. Other textual records include notes and correspondence related to the author's research on Vitruvius. Eight notebooks document projects as a student and as an academic, including attendance at lectures and conferences on architecture, art and the humanities. The collection includes a print copy of Indra McEwen's doctoral thesis with marginalia by Alberto Pérez-Gómez and a manuscript of her translation of Claude Perrault's work on the architectural orders (two parts). Student work includes a studio project for a sound map of Montréal. Also included are an artwork representing the ten scrolls on which Vitrivius' 'De architectura' was originally written, an artwork related to the book 'Socrates' Ancestor', and a poster for a lecture given by Indra McEwen in 2003.
