"This book arises from the opportunity to present the exhibition *No Place Is Deserted. Ocean Swimming Pool, Leça da Palmeira (1960-2021)* , curated by Teresa Cunha Ferreira and Luís Martinho Urbano, and the exhibition * Central Station of Beira, Mozambique (1957-1966)* , coordinated by Elisiário Miranda, in the atrium of the art library of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Both exhibitions are part of the *Keeping It Modern* initiative , promoted by the Getty Foundation, with the aim of fostering the safeguarding and conservation of modern architecture. Álvaro Siza exhibition, curated by Teresa Cunha Ferreira and Luís Martinho Urbano, coupled with the Beira Central Station, Mozambique (1957-1966) Exhibition, coordinated by Elisiário Miranda, in the art library atrium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
