""Magneto"" was by no means the first toy to employ the use of magnets. Advertisements for magnetic toys appeared in Gamage's toy catalogues in the early years of this century, but these were of a different order entirely from Magneto, and later, Magnet Master, mainly comprising fish ponds with fishes caught by a magnet, or fleets of naval vessels pulled by magnets. Magneto provides a magnetic base upon which one can create, with a series of metal bars, rectangles, triangles, and curved and circular pieces, dynamic figures and complex structures.
