Summary:

"Decapitation, Capital and the Future where A.I. is the Only Poet Left Sara Giannini in conversation with Kris Dittel Sara Giannini: Dear Kris, first I would like to thank you for participating to Unfold as our third guest curator with The Economy is Spinning, a multi-faceted curatorial project on the language of finance and its irrationality. Your Unfold#3 is in fact connected to the exhibition of the same name you have just curated for Onomatopee in Eindhoven and which, as is the case with all Onomatopee's projects, will also produce a publication. With Unfold the process of translation and transmigration between the exhibition and the publication expands and takes over the space of the digital folder. Could you describe this three-folded relation between the exhibition, the folder and the book? Kris Dittel: Thank you for the kind invitation! It is an interesting task to take on from the perspective of Onomatopee, an exhibition space and publishing house that exclusively publishes printed matter with attention to the physical space of the book and its tactility. What at first seemed to look like a challenge in fact brought about the possibility to expand the regular exhibition and book format with an online appearance. In this configuration each of the three elements have their own attributes: the physical encounter with artworks in the exhibition space; the online folders with materials that serve to contextualize and offer a broader reading into the scope of the project and research. Finally the materiality of a book that will transform the research and the exhibition into a set of commissioned essays and artists' contributions. The folders also contain additional new commissions by artists and writers that aim to establish a direct connection with the exhibition..."-- provided by distributor.
