With the exception of the Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, none of the buildings where Gordon Matta-Clark made his radical interventions are preserved today. In view of this, the author of this book maintains that deep material of his lost work can be accessed through his archive. Using the alias "Ella", a Chilean researcher who arrives in Montreal to study CP138, writer and scholar of visual arts Richards -who is a transgender woman- explored the Gordon Matta-Clark collection, 1914-2008, a collection of critical texts and personal documents at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA). Combining biographical details and critical texts on the life, work and legacy of Gordon Matta-Clark, including the remodeling of the Museo de Bellas Artes in Santiago, this book has an immediate and permanent impact on trans theory and the history of radical experimentation in art and architecture.
