"In 1969, Aldo van Eyck landed in Brazil, where he visited MASP and was received by Lina Bo Bardi at the Casa de Vidro. But the meeting does not seem to have marked the architects. It took almost thirty years, and a posthumous exhibition of her in Europe, in 1994, for him to (re)discover her, and for Lina and Aldo's meeting to actually happen. Aldo is then taken by a rapture with Lina's projects and ideas that makes him dedicate his last years to promoting her work. He committed himself to taking the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi Arquiteto to the Netherlands in 1995, and the following year he traveled to Brazil documenting Lina's work with his analog camera. These records, of Lina's work by Aldo, are the pillars of this book. Lulled by the various reflections, gathered here in essays and testimonies, we seek to understand Aldo's enchantment with Lina, through possible affinities between these two fantastic figures who are Lina Bo Bardi and Aldo van Eyck ... The book also has historical images illustrating the essays and blocks of photographs taken by Aldo himself and his traveling companions, Paul Meurs and Marcelo Ferraz, on the occasion of his coming to Brazil in 1996." –translated from verso cover.
