"NAT PYPER Thursday, May 8, 2025, 17:30-19:00 BST/12:30-14:00 EDT Nat Pyper is an alphabet artist. Their practice of fonts, video, performance, and writing extends across ongoing research into queer publishing histories. Their book A Queer Year of Love Letters: Alphabets Against Erasure, will soon come out as an eBook with Library Stack and in print with Inventory Press in Los Angeles, who did the book's design. The book is a compendium of material supporting a long-running font design project of the same name, which features 12 custom fonts, each one in honor of some under-sung countercultural queer figure from recent decades. The book is both a suite of design writing and an expanded type specimen for the whole series. It features new writing by Paul Soulellis, Silas Munro, Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo, Claire Star Finch, a new essay by Pyper, and a long conversation between the designer Rosen Eveleigh and the Canadian artist G. B. Jones, who's one of the figures featured in the font series."-- provided by distributor.
