"The Institut de l'Environnement (1969-1971) was an interdisciplinary school in Paris. Founded in the heated atmosphere of worldwide student protests and at a time of growing awareness of the threat posed to the environment, this research and training centre set out to redefine the way architecture and design were taught and the role that research played in the process. The focus of the Bauhaus Lab 2024 was on the institute's teaching and research activities and the cultural context in which it operated. This publication summarises the Bauhaus Lab's insights. It examines the fragmented history of the institute by exploring the question 'What is the environment?'"--Provided by publisher.
